About Us
The Centre for Spatial Planning and Environmental Sustainability (SPACES) is a non-profitable, non-governmental organization registered under the ‘Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860’ initiated by a group of young and dynamic professionals from the fields of Urban Planning, Geographic Information System and Environmental Sciences with a common goal to achieve the spatial and socio-economic development in a sustainable and inclusive modus.
VISION
“To create an environmentally sustainable society for social well-being through the use of modern spatial planning techniques”.
The objective of the organisation is to promote urban and rural planning with focus on physical and socio-economic development in a sustainable manner. It will coordinate the work related to use and development of land and its resources undertaken by various government and non-government organization and by providing mapping solution for such needs with utilization of latest techniques. SPACES will organize training programmes, seminars, lectures and symposia for students, staff of government and other agencies with a view of creating awareness of application of Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) in the spatial planning process.
